All Black: A Re-Vamp

I wrote this post and it deleted it all and part of my soul is crying, so here we go again.

I have a comfort zone in all black, I'll be the first to admit. If I am feeling uninspired or frankly, unattractive, its a comfort blanket to grab and throw on. I love it all the same, but I thought it was about time to try something a little different... But not too different.

I know you might be sat there thinking, 'all leather? are you mad???'. I know, but trust me, it kinda works. I love my leather pants, I have had them for a year or so and they are my absolute go to when I am sick of wearing jeans, we all have that - you've worn the same pair of jeans for the past two weeks and you're just sick of trying to pair the same three tops with them and the cycle continues. (Also extremely handy for when said jeans are in the wash...)

These pants are honestly so easy to style, I know they may seem daunting but they're black remember and what doesn't go with that? You can dress them up and seriously dress them down. However, I urge you to avoid the more humid days. I'll leave you to do the maths on that one.
I usually use them for the more 'off duty' looks I go for. I'll throw them on with an oversized mens t shirt I bought from Primark for £2.50 (you know the drill) and some black boots, a bit like I have above. Its just a really easy way to cheat the style system, making you look like you've put a heck of a lot more effort into your outfit than you actually have.

You also don't have to break the bank for recreating a look like this, mine were only £19.99 from H&M and they are not as uncomfortable as I know you're thinking they are. Very stretchy, very faux and an elasticated waist - what more could you want?

When I was shooting this with my lovely occasional photographer Jess (she's fab), she pointed out how truly antisocial this made me look, and I am not going to lie - it only made me love it more. I like fashion in two ways, to feel normal and comfortable, and to stick out like a sore thumb.

This look was an absolute excuse for me to look much cooler than I actually am, thats for sure. I know I jumped on the aviator jacket trend late here, but this jacket was a recent purchase in the Topshop sale, and I haven't taken it off. I have a love of longline jackets, they make me comfortable and I love how they cover my waist and thighs, something I don't always feel comfortable enough to show. I always find that this style and length of jacket is flattering on everyone, it slims the legs and somehow makes you look a little taller (even if you are a little one like me).

This look has a real 'Lost Boys' feel to it, and I think thats why I loved it so much. I think wearing leather outside a leather jacket is something everyone should try, its honestly not as daunting as you might think, and I think you'll like it.

How would you style these? Do you already style it up with leather? Let me know!!

Love,

H x
