The Perfect Base with the Braun 810

In todays post I wanted to bring you my take on the perfect base for my everyday make up testing out the Braun Face and the Bonus edition brush pack. This is a 2 in 1 precision facial epilator and cleansing brush for which you can also buy additional interchangeable heads with different benefits including sensitive cleansing, deep exfoliation and makeup application. I have used a few different facial cleansing brushes over the past couple of years but this one really stood out to me. The slim design of the product makes it easy to pop in your overnight makeup bag and the changeable brush heads are easy to pack too. It was surprisingly simple to use, which is a must when it comes to my skincare, I don't like too much fuss, if you're like me then you'll love this multi-tasking gadget.

I used the Braun Face to create myself the perfect base for my make up in these little simple steps:-

Step One: Cleanse!

If nothing else, I always use a cleanser with a face brush, it is the one step of my skincare routine (apart from moisturiser) that I always do. This is because it is the best way to quickly and simply get a pore deep cleanse and make sure that you have completely taken off all of your make up. Using the Braun Face in this way is also ideal to care for your skin before you sleep at night as it ensures you've gotten everything off before you carry on with your nightly skincare routine. The Braun additional brushes (that you can buy separately buy in a pack of four) include an exfoliating brush, a cleansing brush for sensitive skin, a beauty sponge and an additional normal cleansing brush head. My personal favourite is the blue exfoliating brush (although if you have sensitive skin you may find this best used only once a week). The cleanser I chose was the Evelom Morning Time Cleanser, which I love because it does not foam on the skin (I am oh-so prone to getting soap suds in my eyes it's a disaster). This cleanser has a much more balm-y consistency that turns from thick to thin when rubbed into the skin. when rubbed into the skin. I love how soft and moisturised I feel when I use this as well as being really clean.

Step Two: A Mask!

I am a huge lover of face masks, whether it be for a quiet night in, a skin detox or just because I really fancy treating my skin in the morning or before bed. I recently got this Bliss anti-ageing clay mask sent to me and I absolutely adored how it left my skin feeling after I applied it. Besides, the plus side of looking like a human rock for 10/15 minutes, it visibly reduces the appearance of pores on your skin, tones and revitalises. I have to say, I could feel the toning and tightening qualities of this mask when I had it on and after taking it off, so its a definite recommendation from me.

Step Three: Exfoliate!

In my opinion, regardless of whether you want to wear make-up or go bare faced, smooth skin is key. By smoothing your skin before applying your make-up, you allow for the smoothest and easiest make-up application possible. I find that the best way to achieve a smooth base is to use a facial exfoliator - my personal favourite is this Rituals Brightening Exfoliator, it isn't too harsh, but I can definitely feel a difference when I use this on my skin. You don't want to be exfoliating your skin too often otherwise you will cause yourself irritation which may end up leading to redness, so its recommended to exfoliate around once or twice a week. I used the exfoliating head on the Braun to massage in my exfoliator and get a good deep clean.

Additional Step: Epilate!

This was by far the most intriguing aspect of the Braun 810, I have never epilated my face or indeed used an epilator at all before, so this was a little daunting. I used this solely on my chin and around my lips, as I have found when I go to slightly over line my lips with a liquid lipstick sometimes the liquid lipstick attaches to the small hairs, this simply got rid of them all! This is a very simple and easy step but something I feel that is going to make a big difference for me. It tweezes down to 0.2mm meaning that you don't have to wait till any hairs become visible, so you're able to keep on top of it easily.
Now I have to warn you this feels very odd, its like loads of little tweezers plucking at once (well done Hayleigh that's exactly what it is..). It's a little painful but I got used to it after a minute or so.

A final step for me is to moisturise, an essential step for any routine day or night. I use this as a final step of my pre makeup routine or a pre makeup primer. This Estee Lauder Day Wear moisturiser is perfect for what I need it for, light moisture and SPF, the perfect protective finish to a perfect base.

A final comparison of my skin before and after makeup, this routine really brightened my skin and gave me a glowing radiance I love for a glowy everyday look.

I hope you enjoyed this post, let me know your thoughts below!

Paris Lookbook Part 2 with The Aptment - Parisian Princess!

When I got invited for a whirlwind 72 hours in Paris by The Aptment as you may have seen on my Instagram and previous post. I knew I wouldn't have much time to see Paris as we had such a booked schedule, we went to Villa M at the Premiere Classe show in Paris and acted as buyers for the weekend, opening my eyes to some really incredible designers and allowed me to meet some really wonderful people in the process.

I knew I wanted to see the Eiffel Tower if nothing else and I am so glad I did. I wanted to go and take some super Sex and The City shots and decided I wanted to get an outfit that made me feel like my own little version of Carrie Bradshaw. I have written previously about how much I take inspiration from Sarah Jessica Parker, and this was a moment that made me feel like a million dollars and I knew I wanted to get myself an outfit to fit the occasion. So when we were finally given a spare hour or so from acting as buyers, we headed straight for the Eiffel Towers. It was so much fun being busy but it was lovely to take an hour or so out to see the beauty of Paris.

I really couldn't completely categorise my style the same way perhaps other bloggers could. I have some days where I want to wear all black and feel oh so mysterious and brooding, there are other days when a pair of mom jeans and an oversized shirt do perfectly, and then there are Carrie Bradshaw princess days in Paris where I want to feel like a Parisian princess. This happened to be a day feeling like the latter.

I love the fact I don't confine myself to a certain style, however I do know I always like something a little bit different, something a little bit special or different. I think any outfit that can make me smile as much as this did as I was twirling at the Eiffel Tower, then its a keeper.

Right before I went to Paris I got my new Valentino's, the princess shoe of dreams I had been lusting over for months. I knew how special they made me feel so I wanted to make sure I had an outfit to match this feeling. I made a trip to Zara and saw this glittery tulle skirt and immediately fell head over heels for it. I have always lusted over the tulle trend as it comes and goes in both A/W and S/S looks.

I didn't want this outfit to be too over the top or dressy, so a slouchy t shirt worked out perfectly for this look. The black and white contrast between my clothes and accessories just seemed so perfect to me. I carried on the choker theme from my last blog post to try and make this outfit less girly and more princess meets leather!

Tulle isn't something to be necessarily afraid of as its a hell of a lot more versatile than you may think. I have already been planning so many autumn and winter outfits for this year. I can't wait to pair this beauty with chunky knits, scarves and boots, its going to be such a sweet combination. Watch this space!

I think the true purpose of fashion and personal style is being able to find pieces and outfits that make you feel like your better self, the outfits that give you that added extra self confidence. I think no matter what you're wearing, if its what you feel comfortable and happy in, it'll look amazing. A lot of people preach that the fashion industry is all about trends and an ever-changing atmosphere and there is no doubting that this is the case, however its adapting these changes and trends into exactly how you need them to be to suit you personally. Thats what having style is all about in my eyes.

I really hope you enjoyed this post, also check out the shop page on my blog as it'll allow you to shop exactly whats coming in my wardrobe and anything I am loving at the moment. Just click the shop tag at the top of my blog!

I hope you enjoyed this post.

Channeling Positivity with my Paris Lookbook Part 1

I am a naturally smiley person, something I credit my dad for. He is the type of guy who no matter what, has a smile and a positive outlook on life. (He's the annoyingly happy morning person you pretend you don't secretly admire). I remember once when I was approached for a promotion via my Instagram, the brand specifically asked me not to smile. No reasoning, just that they felt I looked better when I wasn't smiling, something I didn't believe at all.
I write all about style and fashion but no matter what, your best accessory is always how you're feeling, your own self confidence, and a smile.

I've had a few things thrown my way recently that haven't had me feeling my normal self and I wanted to be completely transparent with you guys. As some of you may know from reading my previous posts, I am taking a gap year to work on my blog and really try and make this work for me. You all know how much this means to me, so I feel I owe it to myself and all of you to put my all into it this year.
The past couple of months a lot of different things have changed, different people have come in and out my life, and almost all of my friends have gone off to university, something which I am immensely proud of them all for, but I don't half miss them like hell (Jess you know I mean you).
Full time blogging requires you to be at home almost everyday and the breaks you get from this are when you shoot content and when you have events and meetings. I am really wanting to start creating some amazing content for you all, so I am working out at the moment just how I actually want to go about things, and once I figure that out, I know I will start to feel immensely better.

In the midst of all this, I wanted to write this post about channelling positivity when it maybe doesn't feel like thats something you feel you're able to do, because trust me I have been having these thoughts the past few weeks and have started to make myself work around it, and actively change my thinking.

Dress - Topshop, Choker - Zara, Belt - Boohoo

Appreciate what it is you actually already have and the opportunities you have taken.

When I feel down about the work I am doing, mostly as I compare myself to other successful influencers and compare what I am doing to the work and opportunities they have through their work, I reflect on what I have actually brought about for myself. This look was from my recent press trip to Paris, my second press trip invite through my blog. I remember getting the email invite to this event and feeling over the moon, in that moment I couldn't have been happier or prouder that what I have built up and worked for could allow me to have the chance to visit one of the most famous and romantic cities in the world.
Everybody puts themselves down, or compares themselves and subsequently degrades themselves with seeing what they are doing at present as not good enough. I have this all the time, but I have found that looking back on really great opportunities or achievements I have brought about myself has given myself a more positive outlook on myself in general. I have found this also helps give me a little kick up the backside to work towards more exciting achievements and opportunities.

Shoes - Missy Empire, Bag - Gucci

Fill your spare time positively.

I have time in the day when I do my admin work, write or think up blog posts and then I have full days when I am busy such as shooting days or days in London. However, I am one of life's thinkers, and without even intending to do so, whenever I have some free time, my mind wanders and can sometimes be when I start to bring myself down.
Recently I have started going to the gym again for an hour or so everyday, and sometimes booking in on classes if I know I have a spare 30 minutes, I find it takes my mind off everything and at the same time makes me feel good about myself as I am working out more regularly and eventually will start feeling fitter and hopefully a little healthier.
A free hour or so could easily be spent sorting through your room and making things a little more efficient or tidy (I know this is something I will be doing) but it just makes you feel like everything is together if you're not around a mess and if something is on your mind, having a more organised surrounding has a really positive impact on your way of thinking.

Spend some time doing things you have maybe been neglecting to do.

With me, this is visiting my family members more than I currently do. I have every intention of visiting my Grandparents more now I have more free time, along with close family friends and especially now my step sister is having a baby, I know I am going to have some auntie duties to fulfil.
Whether you're still in school and this is to get that piece of work done early to allow yourself some time off in the future as opposed to leaving it all to be done last minute, or tidying your room for your parents sake (sorry mum I know I have fallen for this one many times). You'll feel like you've accomplished something, no matter how small and it'll make you feel good, I promise.

This doesn't have to be in the form of exercise, it could be taking an hour every day or so to catch up on a series you've been loving, or going for a walk or a drive or catching up on the phone with someone you haven't spoken to for a while. It doesn't have to be set in stone, but having something or a few options of ways to occupy yourself when you know you're heading towards feeling down, then you have the ability to not let it happen.

Feeling happy all the time is something that most people aren't able to do, myself included. There are events in everyones lives that warrant feeling low, but its how you choose to let yourself feel when things are thrown your way you can do something about. The majority of situations we sit and dwell on are ones we ourselves can most likely do something about. That guys being an arse? Give him a kick up it. You've had an argument with someone? Talk it out, make it better. Something you really wanted has fallen through? Tell yourself its just given way to something even better.

I remember reading somewhere that some fancy pancy research had been done somewhere and that the act of smiling itself releases endorphins that actually trigger happy emotions, so it would seem smiling itself may be the simplest way of making yourself better. Finding a reason to smile, no matter how great or insignificant the reason may be, there will always be something positive you can focus on to make yourself feel better.

Right now, I am trying my very best to focus on the positives. If things aren't coming my way, I need to actively sought them out. No one, or at least the majority of people don't get everything they want handed to them on a plate, and frankly the feeling of working and getting what you want no matter how big or small that may be, evokes one of the best feelings. Self empowerment.

I hope you enjoyed this post, I would really love your favourite ways to stay positive or how you best cheer yourself up when you know you're feeling down.

Valentino heaven with Reebonz

If you've been a follower or reader of mine, you know I am obsessed with high end luxury accessories. I am a sucker for a designer bag or shoe to bring a perfect special touch to my outfits. I learned the hard way with what to buy and what not to buy when it comes to designer shoes. My first pair was a pair of gorgeous glittery Jimmy Choo heels I purchased in the sale at Selfridges. My second, a pair of classic ballet pumps with a slight heel from Chanel, both major MAJOR regrets and a true waste of money on my part. You know whats right for you, and in my opinion should always take this into account when spending a large amount of money on any item. The mistake I made, was not thinking about what I would normally go for in shoes, and therefore purchased shoes that were not only uncomfortable, but not my style. It would end up as something I thought I wanted or needed when in fact they weren't me at all.

I have one pair of designer heels and they are my Gianvitto Rossi's which I got one sale at over 50% off in the Selfridges summer sale, they were such a good buy and are the comfiest pair of heels I own, including all of my high street and online heels. This made me so happy as I had such a bad past with buying designer shoes. I love heels don't get me wrong, but you can't beat wearing flats, they are a life saver for your feet! This is why I knew I wanted a pair of special flats for when I want to feel good and add that extra something to my outfit but also keep myself relatively comfortable.

The Valentino Rockstud has become such an iconic shoe over the past few years and has definitely become one of the most popular designer footwear choices. I have always loved seeing how people have styled the heels and have loved how classic they look however the flats had always caught my eye as I just thought they looked so flattering on. I have seen a lot of the classic colours such as nude and the black and nude combination however, as seen by my designer bag collection, something a little different always draws me in.

I found these beauties on Reebonz, which is an amazing online platform for sourcing a huge range of luxury items. They have new stock is so frequently and have little 2 or 3 day promotional events where you can get brand new items for some really amazing discounts. I found these gorgeous tribal themed Rockstuds and I fell head over heels for them. They combined all of my favourite Rockstud elements, they were black leather but not patent, they had the higher ankle strap and they had the gorgeous gunmetal studs and beautiful blue accents alongside. Little did I know these perfectly matched the colour of my favourite bag at the moment my baby blue Balenziaga.

I am a sucker for packaging, especially when its for a gift or a special item. I was so surprised by how gorgeous the packaging was when my shoes arrived from Reebonz, they came in a gorgeous black box with a beautiful gold bow that literally made me feel like a little girl on christmas morning. If you can't feel like that when receiving princess shoes, when can you?! If I can be made to feel even more special through customer service and quality of service with a brand, then it just makes me want to return even more. I really appreciate brands who go the extra mile to ensure their customers are getting really A* standard service.

As I had previous failings when it comes to designer shoes, I wanted to make sure I was going to be buying a pair of shoes I knew would fit me alongside would be comfortable enough for me. I decided to go in store to try these on before making my choice. I would really recommend this for anyone thinking of getting themselves a special pair of shoes either for an occasion like a birthday or special event because there is nothing worse then getting excited and then finding they are ridiculously uncomfortable or do not fit you the way you had hoped.

I went for a size 38 with these, and I have to say this style in this leather is pretty true to size making it easier if you would like to order online then you would know to go for your normal flat shoe size. The soles of these are suede so they need wearing out in the dry weather the first couple of times and then they should be okay, but I know I am going to avoid wearing these in the unpredictable British rain as they are just too gorgeous!!

I spend a lot of time browsing online at all the gorgeous items online to add them to my mental wishlist, I always have a few select and choice websites I tend to be drawn to however I was genuinely very impressed with the items available online on Reebonz not just for shoes, but handbags and accessories too, both used and in pristine second hand condition. They deliver within 3 business days and there are free returns, so if you do end up choosing the wrong size, then you won't have a problem changing them for your perfect size.

I can honestly say these are one of the most beautiful pairs of shoes I have ever had the pleasure to set my eyes on so thank you so much to Reebonz for the absolutely amazing gift to bring this post to all of you.
I would absolutely love to find you guys some amazing buys and deals so please do let me know below if you are looking for anything and I would absolutely love to try and help. In the meantime, make sure that you sign up to Reebonz here and you can also download the app for some en route wishlist making!

I have some absolutely gorgeous shots from my recent trip to Paris, I was thinking of doing a visual blog post and then blog my outfits, what do you guys think?
