Love Affair with Celine

I have a confession... I've recently had my heart broken, broken by a Celine. I fell in love with this bag in the Designer Exchange Manchester store and borrowed it for meeting one of my idols, Mr Christian Louboutin. The second it was my turn and I was able to meet him to get my very first pair signed, he instantly said he loved my bag. That was it, I had fallen even deeper in love, he customised the signature on the bottom of my shoes to the beautiful colours of the bag, it was heaven.

I am so happy to now be able to cosy up in cosy winter clothes as it has definitely got much colder over the past couple of weeks. This Primark coat (yes Primark!) is my go to recently. Layered over any jeans and boots it makes the perfect autumn combination of warmth, style and comfort, something I treasure as it begins to get colder. I chose to pair it for this look with a simple pair of high waisted blue distressed jeans and burgundy boots. Adding splashes of colour through your accessories is a really great way of switching up everyday winter looks with similar staple pieces.

Coat - I know this is still available in store for £20, I highly recommend a purchase! Similar here!

Thigh Highs and Fur Collars

I fell in love with these In The Style thigh high boots at their blogger event I went to in August, I knew they would be the perfect autumn boot. I have been wearing these with tights as I am here, as well as jeans as they just look so effortless. I am not a very tall girl myself, I am only 5ft 2/3 so I love how these make my legs look longer and just generally give me a little bit more needed height! I simply paired these with some black opaques (a girls best friend in autumn and winter!) a turtle neck dress from Primark and my black fur trimmed coat also from In The Style.

Bagwise, I wore my treasured Mini Lady Dior from Designer Exchange which is one of my most prized possessions since I bought it! Micro bags have been very popular recently and my fear was that it was going to be far too small for everything I need to carry around on the daily, however its actually very spacious (like a little Dior Tardis haha!) and hold everything I need. If you're looking to get a micro bag to downsize your arm candy, I suggest you don't order online and you go and look for one in person, as I have found that the way that the bag closes greatly increases or decreases the space in the bag, try and get one with a flap like mine or a zip at the very top of the bag! Check out if you're looking to perhaps treat yourself this christmas or just because! for a fraction of high street price.

This look is one of my favourite outfits I have worn this Autumn so far, I think its the boots! Click here to steal my boots and coat from this look, with 10% off the entire site with HAYLEIGH10 as well if you'd like! I really recommend the thigh high trend to anyone wanting to elongate their legs or give themselves a little bit more height without it looking too dressed up by choosing a pair similar to mine with a bit of a heel. Investing in a Autumn and Winter coat that cinches in at the waist either with a tie belt like mine or tailoring is a really lovely way to keep your shape under all your winter layers.

I really hope you enjoyed this outfit post and took some autumnal inspiration from it! Let me know your thoughts and what you'd like to see next up on here.

Juggling Life and Blogging and Beginning a Blog

This is not a post that has been requested, however I do get a lot of people asking me how to start a blog, so I figured I would try and address that on here. I fell into blogging. In no way did I set out to try and be a blogger it all sort of all fell together. I began my blogging though having an Instagram for the same social purposes as everyone else around 3 years ago. Here I posted what interested me and just the same everyday life images that the normal Instagram account would have. I have always had an interest in fashion, it did not come from my Instagram, so when people began asking where items I was wearing were from I figured that some people were actually interested. This was where my Instagram and Blog took off from. I realised that there was an obvious group of my followers, however small or big that were interested in my personal style; so I began trying to put a little more effort into my imagery and began to post more of my fashion and style which was well received. This carried on for a while as I simply enjoyed doing it, I had not even heard of blogging as a hobby let alone as a job. As my Instagram began to gain further interest I looked into creating my own online blog.

It was nothing special at first, and believe me when I say that. In order to start a blog you in NO WAY need to dive head first in with all the bells and whistles having thrown far too much money into it. It is good to not know what you're doing because in a way, it allows you to build your blog or your website or anything, into exactly what you want it to be and have it reflect how you are and what you enjoy as a person. I still don't really know what I am doing, I am only 17 and in a blogging world where everyone is far older than I am and if I am honest its bloody daunting. However the bloggers I have met, are always lovely, thats the lovely thing about the blogging community, everyone is very welcoming and supportive. I only wish I knew more bloggers! I still have so much to learn, and my blog is in no way the way I would love it to be but its baby steps. I recently changed my blog layout and design to allow me to focus and work on improving my online written presence as well as my social media presence. I would be lying to you if I had a plan of how I am going to do this, I have no idea. Starting off simple in everything is how its meant to be, you start from the bottom and build your way up at your own pace and as best as you can. I am still somewhat near the bottom in the grand scheme of the blogging world but I would absolutely love to build myself and my blog into something I am proud of.

What about inspiration and motivation? I have struggled a lot with keeping motivated with my blog, this in my personal situation is due to the fact that I am trying to juggle all of my blog work and my Instagram work alongside studying A Levels at Sixth Form 9-4 every day of the week. I have always constantly taken inspiration from higher up bloggers, and it is brilliant to do so as it inspires you to do better for yourself and your own blog. However, one mistake I have made over the past year and I greatly regret it, is comparing myself to those who are excelling in the blogger world. Everyones situation is different, the bloggers you aspire to be like are lucky enough to have worked their ass's off and can now do what they love as a job and I envy them endlessly. However thats the thing, they have everyday dedicated to working on their blog as it is their job. If you have a full time or part time job or are in education like myself, you need to make sure you remember everything else you have going on in your life alongside your blog or wanting to start a blog and set yourself realistic targets for what you can actually achieve.

I would absolutely love to have insane flatlays, an insanely good quality camera, and the opportunity to shoot looks for my blog any day that it would suit me but I simply cannot. I wish I could post a blog post every other day for you all and start up my YouTube channel properly but unfortunately I simply do not have the time I just try my very best to do what I can. This is what you need to make sure you do yourself as well, do what you can and try your best at it.

Alongside Blogging of course comes the opportunity to earn while you are doing it, but this again is not something you will get instantly. I only began getting paid for bits here and there in my 3rd year of blogging and it is no way enough to sustain myself and do it as a career, but I know personally some girls who are able to live comfortably from their blogging careers, so it is more than possible. This however shows it needs to be something you are really passionate about and enjoy doing. I absolutely adore having my Instagram and my Blog, it has given me some fantastic opportunities which I could not be more thankful for, the most recent of which was being given the opportunity (as bank breaking it may have been) to meet Christain Louboutin and have my brand new pigalles signed by the man himself, which was an experience I will never forget and will cherish for the rest of my life. I always see some of the fantastic bloggers I take inspiration from and I can only wish I am able to have some of the opportunities they have been able to have through their blog.

One final note, don't feel like you have to impress anyone, by all means put all your effort into your blog or whatever it is you're wanting to do this applies to everyday life and I need to take heed of my own advice here, if you are creating content to the best of your ability then it is more than what it needs to be. Have confidence in your lack of knowledge, thats how you are meant to be!

I have been wanting to do a post like this for a while, but if you want me to do a post on anything specific about starting a blog, then please let me know in the comments below!

Stealing Your Boyfriends Shirt

Stealing other peoples clothes is one of life's great delights, no matter who they are. I probably take far more enjoyment from it than most but hey! I always used to steal my dads flannel shirts when I was younger as there is something so incredibly comforting wearing someone else's clothes who is close to you, and the fact that oversized flannels are one of fashion's favourites. Now I get to borrow Joe's shirts as well from when he was in his BMX stage and even luckier for me, he never wears them anymore (woohoo!). I have been stealing this River Island shirt for the past year and its one of my favourites.

I always love pairing an oversized flannel with ripped jeans and boots, it used to be my go to look a year or so ago, and it gives me a nostalgic feeling whenever I go back to my old style every now and again. Mixing flannels into your outfits for Autumn/Fall is a really perfect way of getting into the seasons trends as flannel is always an autumn staple.

Hello November - Autumn Hopes and Autumn Tag

I can't believe it is already October, this year has flown by far too fast. The beginning of summer feels  like it was only last week and the start of September feels like it was only yesterday. I would be lying if I said I was not excited for October to come around as Autumn and Winter are by far my favourite times of year. I have recently got very excited for Christmas slowly approaching, I have always been Mother Christmas because I love how everyone tends to get together and have a generally happy outlook on life around Christmas and Winter time and it always makes me happy.

I couldn't think of a better way of bringing a touch of Autumnal joy to my blog than by creating an Autumn Tag!

What signifies the start of Autumn for you?

Autumn really begins for me when I am finally able to wear my favourite coats and not overheat as soon as the sun comes out. Wearing coats and layering makes me much happier than it should do and I am not ashamed to admit it because it all makes me very very happy! Warm coats and scarves and hot chocolates are my highlights of Autumn and something I look forward to every year.
Also finally seeing the beautiful leaves this time of year never fails to make me happy!

What is your favourite Autumn colour?

This year I have two favourites for two different things! In clothes this year I have become absolutely obsessed with burgundy and the wine reds in my boots and jumpers and will no doubt acquire a large amount of these shades in my Autumn and Winter wardrobe. I love these colours the most at this time of year because they are still dark, as I am a lover of black or monotone shades of clothing however it means I can add some beautiful rich colour to my style!
My second favourite colour is oranges and deep burn orange colours for home accessories! I am an absolute lover of decorating my room to the time of year, sometimes its more obsessing over things I wish I could buy on pinterest (follow me here!). My absolute favourite shop for really great quality home accessories is HomeSense, those who haven't heard of it, its basically the home version of TK Maxx and is owned by them, you can find really amazing great quality items at lower the retail prices. Another really fab place to look for home bits and bobs is Matalan, I have fallen in love with so many bits on their Christmas and Autumn sections online! Burnt orange is such a warm and cosy colour and its my idea of heaven this time of year.

What is your favourite Autumn fashion trend?

What is your favourite Autumn drink?

If I am out and about I always love to order myself a Peppermint Hot Chocolate from Starbucks if I am in town, and Costa do some really amazing signature Hot Chocolates closer to Christmas I love getting. At home, a good cup of tea is always a winner for me (in my new massive burnt orange mug from HomeSense of course!) or one of my favourite flavoured teas, Apple and Cinnamon.

Whats your favourite music to listen to in Autumn time?

I love feeling cosy in Autumn as I am sure most people do! Therefore when I am sat alone in my room for some reason I am really into Jazz playlists they just give me a really homely feel. As it gets closer to Christmas Frank Sinatra and Michael Buble are a must! I have no shame in admitting the Michael Bubles Christmas album has already been played and sang along to numerous times in my car.

Staple Autumn item of clothing?

Its got to be boots, its a very close second being a big cosy jumper but boots are a must for me as the weather gets colder and colder it saves my poor toes from freezing! I always get really cold feet in winter so boots and thick cosy socks are a staple for me at this time of year!

Flannel - From Day to Night

I have loved this Ragged Priest dress ever since I got my hands on it, it is just so different that I could not help but fall in love. It is the perfect style of dress to turn from a comfortable day look to a classy evening look. For day time wear I paired the dress with a long fringed sleeveless cardigan from Mango, alongside my Mango leather ankle boots. It was the perfect combination of comfortable and chic. As it starts to get colder I will switch the sleeveless cardigan to one with more substance and one that will keep me toasty warm! I also love wearing this dress with a long scarf, another addition sure to make an appearance in autumn/winter looks!

For the transition to the evening look created around this dress I switched my comfortable flat ankle boots for some stylist pony hair effect Kurt Geiger heels which are much more comfortable than I expected alongside my little River Island micro bag. Its really not as difficult as it sometimes seems to switch a favourite piece in your wardrobe from day to night. This look is one which is really easy to wear for going out as the weather gets colder, I can be dealing with being too cold any time of the year! A long tailored coat over this look would be really great to make sure you stay extra warm!
