I thought it might be a good idea to start making some outfit posts on Polyvore (hayleighjm (give my Polyvore a follow!), to provide some inspiration and ideas for looks as many of you were asking for outfit of the day posts I think this would be a good alternative for in the meantime!

This look is one I created for the weather at the moment, it is half way between being cold and wanting to be cold so a full on coat can be too much and just a jumper can leave you on the edge of both, which is never a good thing. This kind of jacket is a great solution to this time of year, I found one in GAP in Canada a couple of years ago and its so easy to throw over a jumper for some extra layers, this one is from Topshop Unique and you can find a cheaper alternative at high street shops such as New Look or River Island, and as always, TK Maxx would be a great place to look for one off pieces like this, especially in the contempory designers section.
The bag I know is extremely far fetched for most budgets but I adore it and fell in love so I just had to include it into the outfit, just a simple plain structured bag like this one! I can vouch for the quality of this bag as I have had it for a year or so and its held strong, there is a main compartment along with two popper sides, and at only £29.99 its honestly one of the best deals, this bag would also be good as a bag for school or college as the size and durability will allow you to carry what you need!
As for the shoes, again they aren't very plausible, but Saint Laurent is my absolute favourite designer at the moment so, it had to be done. However I have found a fabulous alternative from Zara again, available here, I adore these Zara alternative as they could be worn in so many ways, and in winter a new boot investment is always a profitable one, I know I will be saving up for some new boots as I practically live in mine. A good place for boots in general on the high street is Office, this is where I got mine a year and a half ago and I have worn them almost every day, even in the Summer and they have held so very well, apart from some obvious wear so I highly recommend Office as a place to consider.
The sunglasses, Saint Laurent are so so so very stunning and they are my Christmas present and I cannot wait so I just had to include my new babies it would be a sin not to right? They are the perfect bold pair of sunglasses and are designed to suit any face shape, I felt so good when I tried them on it was indeed love at first sight. So, you will be seeing them a lot in future outfit posts as I am sure I will make it my job to fit them in with every outfit possible.
A pair of black skinnies can be found anywhere and I would be surprised if you didn't already have some to hand to work into this kind of outfit, for this autumn and winter you will definitely be in need of a good pair of skinnies, I almost always get my jeans from H and M as you cant beat the quality for the price, however TK Maxx is always good to look in to see whether they have some more expensive jeans at the price you were willing to pay!
The jumper is a very affordable addition to this outfit, being from Mango, and the quality of Mango clothes is very good and is similar to that of places like Zara and similar prices, I am wearing a Mango jumper right now as I type this and I can vouch for the quality you will get. The scarf as well you would easily be able to pick up a plain black scarf wherever you went so have a hunt and create a new autumn winter look for yourself!

Below are the items used for this look so you can check them out for yourself!

MANGO ribbed sweater
$49 -

Topshop Unique outerwear

Frame Denim destroyed jeans
$340 -

SELECTED blue scarve
$51 -

Yves Saint Laurent thick glasses

I hope you enjoyed this type of outfit post, please let me know if you enjoyed it as I have a few more lined up that I want to post! Also if there are any looks you want me to re create affordably then give me a challenge and comment below!

Autumn/Winter '14 Trends

One of the requests for posts I received was to do and Autumn and Winter trend guide to provide you guys with some inspiration if you were needing it, so hopefully I can try and provide you with some lovely autumnal pearls of fashion wisdom.
I am going to start with my absolute favourite trend no matter where and when and whatever time of year, the oversized coat. It seems that the trend seems to get bigger and bigger every time I see it hit the runway and indeed hit the high street and our wardrobes. I love the idea of an oversized coat, black, camel, beige are my must have colours of this trend. These can be worked over any outfit and I think my undying love for them stems from the fact that they work wonders with the colour black, black jeans, black boots, black turtle neck and a long oversized camel coat is a thing of dreams. At recent fashion weeks around the world designers have been showcasing this look, in particular the extra long black coats, another thing in the fashion fairy tales. Designers such as Dolce and Gabanna and of course, one of my favourite designers Celine. I just stand in awe at the Celine coats in Selfridges and I cannot get over the beauty of them. However, if you do not have thousands to be spending on a Celine coat, well lets face it that's all of us. There are some wonderful alternatives available on the high street from topshop such as this one (which also ties nicely into my next trend the wonders of fur) and here. Also Zara has an absolutely gorgeous camel coloured tie coat in at the moment available here! Zara is always AMAZING for keeping up to date with catwalk trends at relatively affordable prices, or at least a vast improvement on the dent that a Celine would make on your wallet.
These looks by Fendi are exactly what style should be in the autumn time, its basically a case of blending to your surroundings, if you look like autumn, you're doing it right. If you're warm and you look fab, you're doing it even better.
Bold Eyewear
No matter what time of year it is, its always the time of year for some fabulous sunglasses. I have always adored sunglasses and my collection has grown over the years, they have tended to be cheap sunglasses from Primark etc. and I highly recommend Primark as a place to get sunglasses you know will get thrown around maybe to keep in the car for when needed rather than your best pair. Trends in the fashion world at the moment with regards to eyewear seem to be black and bold. But mainly the trend has been bold, and this trend can in fact be worked well by all face shapes, even though you may not think it. With designers like Celine (again, they seem to be doing well this lot) and other designers such as Mui Mui and Saint Laurent also leading the way in this trend. My Christmas present from the lovely Joe is in fact the most beautiful pair of Saint Laurent sunglasses I have ever ever lay my eyes upon and I felt like a complete and utter princess and don't you worry these will be glued to my face for late winter early spring. However you don't have to bare the hefty price tag if you don't want to, if you do I highly recommend that you go in store into Selfridges or Harvey Nichols so you actually try them on! However I have had a look online to find some cheaper alternatives that make it a lot easier to work this trend, Net-A-Porter have a wonderful pair of black chunky sunnies available here! These come in a super cute case and its a win win for everyone.
Fur or Faux?
I really like the idea of incorporating fur into some of my autumn and winter looks this year, Kim Kardashian recently showcased a fabulous Celine (again?!) red fur scarf and it looked absolutely fab. I feel like a fur scarf would allow you to add some extra warmth without bulking yourself out too much and instead keeping up with trends at the same time.
Fur seems to be, in my opinion one of the most versatile statements you can make in the colder months, I am in definite need of purchasing a fur neck scarf to go over my winter coats, therefore you look like you have fur trim coat, but actually it can be both, win win! However, beware of the bad ways of wearing fur, stay away from full on fur boots, no one wants to be walking around looking like the abominable snowman that's stepped in a puddle... Fur coats have also carried through from last years trends and have been incorporated into the XXXL trend, with long flowing warm fur coats, nothing can go wrong!
I have seen a few high street ways to look this trend mainly from shops such as River Island and Topshop, but any vintage shops would be an amazing place to pick up some loved fur coats or fur wraps at an affordable price, I know this is definitely where I will be heading to get some autumnal pieces.

The Poncho

After my recent visit to Glasgow during the Commonwealth Games, I went into the rather large TK Maxx and picked up a poncho on clearance, I figured that it would be a good thing to throw over the top of an outfit if it was cold or an extra layer under a winter coat. It turns out that it was a very wise purchase as at the recent fashion weeks ponchos have been a prominent feature throughout from the likes of Fendi and were hugely popular in the Burberry show with all of the models lead front and centre by Cara Delavigne all wearing Bureberry ponchos and damn, they looked fierce. TK Maxx have an absolutely amazing selection of ponchos and similar items, some with fur necklines, some with sleeves and a wide variety to fit anyone's style, have a look!
Pair a poncho over a polo neck jumper a pair of skinnies and some winter boots and you have a perfect layed back autumn outfit to bare the ever changing weather.

I also found a couple of images that I thought would be a useful source of inspiration for everyday autumn winter looks! All the images used in this were found online and are not my own!

I hope that this post was everything that you wanted it to be! I just included my favourite styles and trends from the Autumn/Winter catwalks of recent fashion shows along with never changing styles and timeless looks. If there were any trends that I missed out or you would like to see a feature on then please feel free to comment below and I can get to work on them!

Keep your eye out for some outfit posts soon hopefully when I have figured out an effective way of getting high quality images to use, so for now it will be review posts etc. on things you want to see, so as always please let me know!

The Autumn Tag

I was tagged by the lovely Jordan Nixon who, like myself is a fashion blogger so please go and check out her blog;!
Autumn is honestly so amazing its the time of year when you can bring out your jumpers and your oversized coats and damn its and excuse to cuddle. I was lucky enough to visit New York in fall and i have to say since then its been set in my mind as my favourite time of year alongside Christmas (of course).

1. What is your favourite thing about this time of year?
Ok, Autumn is amazing for so many reasons, as I mentioned before the idea of big warm coats and amazing simple outfits with statement warm pieces and oh my goodness help i am going off topic. I love the weather this time of year, or at least when its not raining its wonderful, the colour on the trees is always so lovely to look at and it tends to be that kind of cold that doesn't freeze you to death but makes your nose go that super cute rose shade. I love how cosy it all feels and HALLOWEEN I forgot how could i forget?! Dressing up with wonderful costume make up and ahhhhh autumn.
2. What is your favourite seasonal drink from Starbucks/Costa/Café Nero?
Right, i am absolutely in love with the peppermint hot chocolate which Starbucks have out around Christmas time and as winter starts to set in, its absolutely amazing and is basically heaven in a cup, if you bring me peppermint hot chocolate i will love you endlessly, I love it so much that I genuinely emailed Starbucks to ask whether they will have it available to buy on the UK store or whether i could have it shipped over, genuinely. They said they are working on it, you're welcome. My favourite seasonal drink from Costa is the honeycomb hot chocolate that they do around Christmas time in the super cute Christmas cups they have out every year and half the reason I get drinks there is to get the cups I adore them. There is a hot chocolate theme here isnt there, its not a drink I tend to have at all any other time of  year so I tend to get my hot chocolate intake in the winter! Café Nero isn't really a favourite of mine so i am not too sure, i dont even think I have ever seen a special seasonal drink there! BUT CAN I JUST SAY the range of drinks in Starbucks is awful compared to the US and Canada, when i go over its heaven and yeah this is why I emailed.
3. Autumn accessories, what do you opt for? Scarf? Boots? Gloves?
I tend to go for a big oversized coat, in the past couple of weeks I picked up my new winter coat for this year and it is the most beautful coat I have ever bought honestly. I am in love with a good pair of black leather gloves so these a must have for me in the autumn and the winter times, a big warm scarf is obviously a must have too! I wear boots all year round so duh! Boots!

4. Favourite autumn make up look?
Its got to be a bronze shadow eye with a shadow liner paired with some bronzed cheeks and some dark ass lipstick, or for every day and browny nude (much like MAC's Velvet Teddy which I wear a hell of a lot since I bought it in July) and you're on you're on your way to the best autumn look! Its definitely my go to this time of year.

5. What are you looking forward to most in Autumn?
I am looking forward to being off on half term and being able to dress all wintery and fabulous and walk round Manchester and go to the library and drink hot chocolate and all that wonderful stuff. I am also looking forward the mybandagedress event on the 11th of October in Birmingham and i am so so so so so excited, I can't wait to meet all of the lovely people going.

6. Favourite place to be?
Canada. 100%.

7. Favourite scent/candle?
My favourite is probably November Rain by Yankee Candle, when i was in Scotland for the commonwealth games i went in and smelt it and oh my goodness it was so amazing, and guess who didn't buy it? Me!! I have never really been a candle person so it didn't make much sense for me to buy it but ever since 've been searching for it so if you know where I can get it please let me know!

So this was my autumn tag, I hope that you enjoyed this and let me know if this kind of thing is something you would like to see more of! I will be sorting out fashion related posts soon as I want these to be longer than the rest so hopefully they will be coming soon!

Re-thinks and Restarts

Over the past couple of months as my Instagram has progressed and my interest and knowledge of the world of fashion growing to even greater expanses, I have started to think about what it is I really want to do after I finish sixth form and head out into the wonderful, and rather daunting world of University. Quite frankly the idea that the paths I choose after my compulsory education will dictate what does will and will not open to me in my professional future petrifies me, I am an over-thinker, and this send me into overdrive.
For a while now I have had in my head that I wanted to be an engineer, particularly within the world of motorsport, stemming from my love of formula 1. Now however, after starting my A levels and starting to experience the step up from GCSE I am wondering whether dedicating 4/5 years of my life at university to it would be something I would actually enjoy.
This then got me thinking as to what the other reasons I was wanting to do engineering were, these being that they tend to be well paid and financial stability and confidence is something I know I will relish and stride to have as an adult, but then I realised that another reason I was thinking about this career path was my parents. I am not saying that my parents were forcing me to go into this field it is the exact polar opposite, in fact a lot of my decisions education wise have been greatly weighted by my personal choices for my own personal benefit. I realised that a large proportion of the reason I was looking into engineering was that I wanted to do my parents proud, and in my head a well paid widely appraised line of work seemed to be the way to go.
However I am no longer hindered by this, I have had a think about what I enjoy, and I urge people in my situation to do the same, if you list what you enjoy and then have a look at where you could go with these skills and enjoyments and perhaps you can find a career in which you will thrive mentally and physically. After all, a dead end job you don't enjoy is never something I wish to have.
Fashion. Fashion was at the top of my list, as you may be able to tell from my Instagram I do enjoy fashion etc. quite a lot. I also enjoy writing, I have always loved writing on my blog however I do not do it nearly enough, which is why as of this post I will be trying to do a minimum of a post a week, taking suggestions from you all and providing you with what you want while aiding my progression as a writer and a blogger, both things I enjoy greatly.
Fashion Journalism is what I am set on now, or at least something around those lines, and it took me some guts to talk to my mum about my change in ideology and frankly she didn't mind at all, she said that she thought I would do well and that we should look into it, hardly the ordeal in which I envisaged the conversation to be. So, this is what I am planning on striving towards as of now and who knows what I will want to be by the end of the year!
So after a boring and unneeded update on my life, my main message is that having understood how stressful the idea of planning out the rest of your life before you are ready or feel half as mature and you should be. Just do what will make you happy, and have a think about what will actually make you happy. Its your life and you will be the one perhaps regretting that opportunity that you never took.
Also, please let me know what posts you would all like to see on here from now on as I shall be starting it up properly as a fashion/lifestyle blog.
Thank you as always for reading my word vomit.
